10 things to know about applying

    1. Expect the application process to take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

    2. If you are a new applicant, which means you haven’t applied for a job at the district before, you will be required to create a new account. This includes selecting a username and entering your first name, last name, and email address. You will need this information to login to apply for future employment opportunities or update your applicant profile.

    3. Before starting your application, consider having the following information available if applicable to the position:

    • Certification type, level, description; month and year of issue and month and year of expiration, if applicable,
    • Colleges/Universities attended, graduation date, degree earned, and major subject,
    • To/from dates of teaching, student teaching and non-teaching experience, name of organization, name of supervisor and contact phone number,
    • Honors, distinctions, and training you have completed, and
    • Three (3) professional references, including name, title, organization, work phone, home phone, and email address, if available.

    4. A reference questionnaire is sent to each professional reference upon submission of your application using the email provided for the reference.

    5. Application fields with a red asterisk (*) are required. These fields must be completed. You will be allowed to continue through your application once these fields are completed.

    6. If you are in the process of obtaining certification, you may enter the anticipated completion date on the “Issue Date” field and leave the “Expiration Date” field blank.

    Ensure you select appropriately under “Certification Area” and “Certification Type.”

    7. Once your application is submitted, the “Your application has been submitted” message will be displayed at the top of the page.This indicates the application is complete and visible to hiring authorities.

    We recommend that you print a copy of your application for your records.If you have provided a valid email address, an email is sent to that address confirming the receipt of your application.

    8. Make note of the job posting closing date. You cannot update your application after the posting has closed.However, you may access your Applicant Profile by logging back into the Employment Opportunities page as a returning applicant.

    Within the Applicant Profile, you can update some portions of your application without submitting a new application, including general information, work history, references, and other specific fields. You may also upload a new attachment.

    9. If you are applying for multiple positions, you may log in as a returning user and apply for every position for which you are qualified.With every application submission, update any new or recently changed information.

    10. Round Rock ISD follows site-based management practices. Principals and other hiring officials are responsible for hiring positions within their authority area.

    The online application database of applicant information is available to all hiring officials; however, principals may also utilize job fair contacts, letters of interest, employee referrals, etc., as recruiting tools.

    Background & Criminal History Check

    Under state law, Round Rock ISD may obtain any criminal history record information pertaining to an applicant. The District may obtain such information from any law enforcement agency including a police department, the Department of Public Safety, The Texas Department of Corrections or similar out of state entities.

    Applicant Frequently Asked Questions

    I do not have access to a computer, how can I apply?
    Computer access with internet capability is available in the HR Services Office at 7700 Cornerwood Dr., Austin, TX 78717.

    Should I mail my resume, transcripts and certification/licensure records to Round Rock ISD in addition to using the online application process?
    Unless otherwise instructed on the job posting on the Employment Opportunities page, it is not necessary to send any additional paperwork to the District. If you are offered employment with the District, any required credentials will be obtained at that time.

    Am I required to provide information regarding student teaching experience if I am an experienced teacher?
    If you have five or more years of teaching experience, you do not need to complete the information requested under “Student Teaching Experience”.

    Am I required to provide information regarding non-teaching experience?
    If your work experience is relevant to the position for which you are applying, i.e., surgical nursing experience in a hospital if you are applying for a nursing position, you should include this information.

    I forgot to add information to my application and can no longer see the posting I applied for to update my application. What can I do?
    Once a posting has closed, you will no longer be able to update your application for that posting. However, you can add some additional information, including general information, work history and references, and also upload new attachments. To do this, access your Applicant Profile from the Employment Opportunities page by logging in as a returning applicant.

    Is my information confidential?
    Because Round Rock Independent School District is a public entity, your application is considered a public document and is subject to disclosure, upon request.
