Round Rock ISD is an outstanding school district where children truly come first. The daily rate for classroom substitutes is $85 per day. The half day rate for classroom substitutes is $42.50 per half day.
How Do I Become a Substitute with Round Rock ISD?
The Substitute Office will be accepting substitute applications from all interested applicants meeting minimum requirements beginning Monday, August 1, 2016. To qualify to serve as a substitute in Round Rock ISD a substitute applicant must have education equivalent to completion of high school and one of the following criteria must be met:
- Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education, or an Associate of Arts (AA) or higher degree, or
- Combination of education and/or related work experience (i.e. day care, private school teaching, summer camps, substitute teacher work, teaching assistant, etc.) equivalent to two years, or
- Completion of formal substitute teaching preparation course.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply online below and send a letter of interest to the RRISD Substitute Office via email. Applicants must submit both a substitute application and a letter of interest to be considered. Applicants will receive further information from the Substitute Office.
The Substitute Office is currently notifying interested applicants of an exciting opportunity. Tutors for Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Learning System are needed to facilitate small group tutoring sessions using specific AVID tutoring methods. Tutors earn $10 per hour and can work between one and five hours per session. Note: Substitute teachers must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for high school assignments.
We must meet federal guidelines by ensuring that all possible participants are notified of their eligibility. Round Rock ISD offers two different deferred compensation plans for retirement purposes – 403(b) and 457(b). Substitutes are eligible to participate in one or both plans.
