BMi Audit Services to perform medical benefits dependent verification

Round Rock ISD has contracted with BMi Audit Services to perform relationship verification for dependent(s) enrolled in our Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance program.

Most school districts and employers require dependent verification in their employee benefits offerings. While the District has not previously needed this step, this change aligns with industry practices and is part of our ongoing efforts to control costs and keep our enrollment records current. The audit begins in February.

If you:

  • Do not participate in the District’s medical benefits coverage. This does not apply to dental or vision benefits. Please disregard this message. There is no action you need to take.
  • Do participate in the District’s medical benefits coverage and only you are enrolled with NO dependents on the plan. Please disregard this message. There is no action you need to take.
  • Do participate in the District’s medical benefits coverage AND have OR will have dependents enrolled for medical coverage. Please continue reading and review 1-minute informational video.

As the primary medical benefits account holder, you will receive a personalized audit packet to the mailing address that we have on file. The information will arrive in an envelope from BMi Audit Services and will read OPEN IMMEDIATELY – RESPONSE REQUIRED and include:

  • Letter: Explains the verification process and how to submit copies of your vital records documents, such as, marriage, and birth certificates.
  • Verification Form: Details for identifying dependent relationships and required documents.
  • Resource: BMi’s toll-free helpline. Please direct all questions to BMi.
  • Access to BMI’s secure online portal: The most efficient way to complete your requirements. You will also have the option to submit copies of documents via the U.S.P.S. mail.

If you do not have a required certificate or document copy, please order it immediately. The vital statistics website can help you determine how to obtain documents, or you can visit the county or town clerk’s office. Most court records can be obtained directly from the courthouse. Please note that costs associated with acquiring new copies are not reimbursable.

Please keep in mind that the insurance program is a collective asset, and it is crucial for all of us to act with financial responsibility. Your cooperation is essential as we undertake this vital dependent eligibility audit. It is important that if you currently support dependents on your plan that you take action within the prescribed timelines to ensure no disruption to you or your family’s medical coverage.
