Electronic W-2 Statements
The IRS requires Round Rock ISD to furnish all employees with a Form W-2 for each calendar year that wages are paid. The Form W-2 details the employee’s compensation and tax withholding and is used to complete the employee’s annual tax returns. In the past, employees have received paper copies of their W-2s.
Benefits of Receiving Form W-2 Electronically:
- Online delivery provides access to the Form W-2 earlier than the paper copy.
- Avoid the possibility of an employee’s W-2 form being lost, stolen, delayed or misplaced.
- 24/7 access is available on ESS, the same easy-to-use website where employees can access additional information like wages, benefits, and payroll statements.
Consent:
The IRS approves the use of electronic W-2 statements. However employees must consent to receive their W-2 in electronic format instead of a paper copy. For this reason, if you wish to attain all future W-2 statements electronically, please submit your consent on ESS. To ensure electronic receipt of your 2023 W-2, please submit your consent by November 6, 2023.
