Benefits news: Three things YOU need to know

Your HR Services department is working hard to bring you benefits that further a positive work-life balance. We’re proud to offer District employees added benefits that provide support and flexibility.

1. Catastrophic Sick Leave Bank (CSLB) – open enrollment is Sept. 5 – 12.

Eligible Round Rock ISD employees may participate in a voluntary sick leave bank for continued income due to a prolonged catastrophic illness or injury.

To participate, employees must enroll and donate the equivalent of two days of their own local leave to the CSLB. Details about the program and how to enroll will be emailed to you on September 5.

View CSLB eligibility and criteria DEC(LOCAL) and DEC(REGULATION).

2. Bereavement Leave – District employees can receive up to three days of bereavement leave with no loss of pay.

The benefit is available should an employee experience the death of an immediate family member.

Employees must submit a leave request through the Leave Portal and will be required to provide documentation.

Bereavement leave is noncumulative. Find district leave policies in the Board Policy Manual, DEC Local, and DEC Regulation.

3. YOU Days: Mark your calendar on Friday, Oct. 4 district offices and campuses are closed.

YOU Days are non-instructional days. This day is for YOU—A day you can sleep in, make appointments, enjoy your interests, spend time with family and friends, and binge-watch the latest thriller.

YOU is our district’s well-being program—mental, physical, social, and financial well-being benefits designed especially for YOU.

Your next YOU Day is February 17, 2025.
