Yoliy is a supervisor in our Transportation Department. Her daily responsibility is to ensure that all bus drivers and monitors have the resources and training to successfully transport over 13,000 students to school and back home safely. The safety of our students has been her number one priority since she joined the District just over four years ago.
Outside of work, Yoliy places all of her energy into making new memories with her husband and daughter, a student at Joe Lee Johnson STEAM Academy. Each weekend they have an adventure that involves exploring a new campsite, lake, hiking trail, or attending a local event.
Hatch is not just the name of a chile – it’s also Yoliy’s hometown. She was raised in a small rural town called Hatch, New Mexico – also known as the Chile Capital of the World. Many may recognize the name from all the Hatch green and red chile sold at area grocery stores. Yoliy remembers the first sign of fall was the smell of the first chile batch roasting and dinner discussions about having green or red chile.
