Q: Why are our health plan contribution rates going up?
A: The district is self-funded and due to a deficit in the plan’s fund balance, changes to the plan were necessary.
Q: I don’t want to make any changes to my benefits, what do I do?
A: Enrollment is mandatory. If you fail to enroll in benefits, you won’t have any coverage for the 2025 plan year.
Q: I want to enroll my children, what do I need to do?
A: Add the dependents to coverage during your enrollment process. Once enrollment elections are made, complete the dependent verification form and email the form and supporting documentation to the benefits department. Examples of supporting documentation include a birth certificate, court order, or adoption paperwork.
Q: I’m enrolling my spouse for the first time in coverage. What documentation is required?
A: A marriage certificate and joint document. Joint documents must be dated within the last 90 days and addressed to both parties. Examples of joint documentation are a utility bill, mortgage statement, auto insurance statement, or the previous calendar year’s income tax return.
Q: When will benefit election changes take effect?
A: All changes for open enrollment are effective January 1, 2025.
Q: How do I enroll in benefits?
A: There are three ways to enroll. The recommended way is to download and enroll using the 4YOMobilele App, or call the Benefits Call Center at 1-877-282-0808 Monday – Friday, 7 am to 5 pm CST. You can also enroll online.
Q: I’m covered through my spouse’s insurance. What are my options if he loses his job?
A: Loss of coverage is a qualifying event. You would reach out to the HR Services Benefits department and notify them that you have a qualifying event to start the process. You have 30 days from the date of the event (loss of coverage) to make a request.
Q: My spouse and I are both district employees. Can I cover him under my plan?
A: No, if your spouse is a Round Rock ISD employee they cannot be covered under the same plan. Both district employees need to make benefit elections.
Q: I just enrolled in benefits in October as a new hire. Do I have to enroll again?
A: Open enrollment is mandatory. The changes will not transfer over. Current coverage is effective through December 31, 2024 only. You must elect or decline benefits for each benefits year.
Q: I was previously enrolled in the PPO Copay $3,000 plan. I don’t see the plan as an option. What should I do?
A: The PPO Copay of $3,000 and PPO Copay of $2,000 have been combined into the Copay PPO $2,500 plan. You will need to select a different plan.
Q: What do I do with my HSA funds in Health Equity?
A: You can spend the money, transfer the funds to Wex, or leave your funds with Health Equity and pay the monthly administrative fees.
Q: I still have money in my FSA. Where can I spend it?
A: You can use your FSA money to cover any copays, and medical treatments or shop at the FSA Store.
