Employees are encouraged to review and update the following information in Employee Self Service (ESS) between November 29 and December 7, 2023:
- Privacy setting
- Veteran status
- Employee address, phone, and emergency contacts
- Internal Revenue Service W-4 Form, if applicable.
To review and update your information in ESS, follow these instructions.
- Log in to Employee Self Service (ESS).
- Click on Personal Information on the menu.
- On the Personal Information page, click on the Demographics tab to review your information.
- Click on the “Edit” button to review all of the available fields and update as applicable.
1. Privacy setting: Confirm or select your preferred setting.
- Do Not Release Information, or
- Release Information
2. Veteran status: If you have not previously provided a response, this field is defaulted to “No”. Select your veteran status.

- No, or
- Prefer not to answer
- Click “Save” to save your changes or Cancel to make no changes.
3. Review your current address and emergency contact information.
Select the Contact tab (next to the Demographics tab).
- Edit your address or click “Add New,” if applicable.
- Edit your emergency contacts or click “Add New”, if applicable.
- Edit your phone number or click “Add New,” if applicable. Phone type is a required field.
- Click “Save” to save each of your changes or Cancel to make no changes.
4. Last detail! Review your Internal Revenue Service (IRS) W-4 Form for 2024.
Determine if the W-4 Form needs updating for any federal income tax changes for the upcoming 2024 year. Employees may review additional information about the W-4 Form on the IRS web site.
- Employees can review their current W-4 filing status in ESS by selecting “Pay/Tax Information” and the “W-4” option from the menu list. Select “Edit Federal” to submit a W-4 update in ESS, if necessary.
- Employees who claim exempt status are required to submit a new W-4 Form by February 15, 2024.
- Log out and exit ESS. Thank you!
