New for 2023-2024, PreK for 3-year-olds

Round Rock ISD Early Childhood Education proudly offers District employees full-day instruction for 3-year-old students at five top-rated District campuses, Berkman Arts Integration Academy, Jollyville, Laurel Mountain, Old Town, and Redbud elementary schools.

The opportunity to declare intent to enroll in on-campus PreK3 is being offered to Round Rock ISD employees. Space is limited and if there are any remaining vacancies they will be offered to the general public. Don’t miss out, complete the PreK3 Eligibility & Tuition-based interest form today!

The PreK3 program is for children three years old on or before September 1 of the considered school year. Parents/guardians can select their location preference during enrollment. Space at the preferred location is not guaranteed. Transportation is not included.

  • Round Rock ISD is required to confirm eligibility before charging the full-rate tuition. Monthly tuition rates for the 2023-2024 school year will be determined as follows:
  • Children of Round Rock ISD employees that do not meet any of the TEA eligibility criteria will have a monthly rate of $640 (commensurate with the Together We Can (TWC) program).
  • If you are signed up for TWC and wish to enroll in PreK3, please get in touch with the Early Childhood Education department.
  • Children that meet at least one of the TEA eligibility criteria will have a monthly rate of $200.
  • A nonrefundable $100 deposit payment is due on the registration day through eStore per child. This deposit will go towards the first month’s tuition.

Steps to enroll

  1. Complete the PreK3 Eligibility & Tuition-based interest form. Declared interest forms are time stamped and prioritized on first come, first serve. Class size is limited to 20 students, 14 spots for TEA-qualifying students with adjusted tuition, and 6 spots for full tuition based students at each campus.
  2. Starting Monday, June 5, the Early Childhood Department staff will schedule child language testing, if applicable, or notify parents/guardians of program placement and tuition rates by phone and/or email.
  3. Parents/guardians must email an acceptance/confirmation of their child’s participation within 24 hours of being notified of program placement to secure their spot in the program. Children not securing a spot in the initial enrollment are placed on a waiting list.
  4. From July 5 to July 14 – Parents/guardians are emailed the official enrollment link to complete the online registration, submit required documentation, and pay a $100 nonrefundable registration fee. Documents required for enrollment include: Birth certificate,immunizations record [immunization requirements], proof of income [two most recent pay stubs], proof of residence in the school district [such as, lease agreement, if renting, contract of sale or a tax statement, if purchasing], current utility bill indicating the address and the adult’s name, Social Security card, if available.
  5. If space becomes available, the early childhood education department will inform families on the waitlist from July 17 through July 28.

A day in Full Day PreK3 may look like::
Schedules vary by school. Please check with your child’s instructor for specifics.

  • 7:30–8 a.m. Arrival
    Breakfast, arrival procedures, sign in, and language development activities.
  • 8–8:15 a.m. Morning welcome
    Welcome song/music and other content-based activities.
  • 8:15–9:45 a.m. Learning centers, and small groups
    Children work in free-choice centers. The teacher works with early literacy small groups throughout the morning.
  • 9:45-10:30 a.m. Outside play. (weather permitting)
  • 10:30–10:45 a.m. Vocabulary development
    Read aloud and other vocabulary building activities.
  • 10:45–11:15 a.m. Lunch
    The teaching assistant and the Pre-K lunch monitor sit with the children to assist with the meal and model appropriate behavior.
  • 11:15–12 p.m. Rest
  • 12 -1:30 p.m. Center time & Small groups
  • 1:30 -1:45 p.m. Circle time
  • 1:45 – 1:55 p.m. Early numeracy
    The teacher works with early numeracy groups
  • 1:55 – 2:40 p.m. Structure outdoor physical activity
  • 2:40 – 2:55 p.m. Closing circle
    End of day music and movement
  • 2:55 – 3:15 p.m. End of day
    Dismissal procedures
