District staff with a CDL can earn extra pay

Staff members with valid commercial driver’s licenses (CDL) can earn more money by driving a bus outside duty hours. Transportation is looking for extra licensed drivers to help fill AM and PM shift gaps. Pay is $21.25 per hour, potentially earning up to $15,000 more annually.

Earnings go towards TRS. A larger contribution to your TRS account can boost your retirement pay.

Staff with a class C driver’s license and in good standing with the Texas Motor Vehicles Department may qualify for assistance from transportation to earn their CDL and bus driving permit.

Some weekend work is available. Get in touch with Tina Fausett, director of transportation, to start earning more today for a better tomorrow.
