COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Ends: Important Benefits Update

The government ended the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) on May 11, 2023. As a result, some District healthcare benefits for COVID-related expenses have changed. Effective immediately, the copays and deductibles previously in place before the pandemic have been reinstated for COVID-19-related medical visits and prescriptions across all District offered health plans.

We’re working throughout the summer to staff our campuses with great teachers. Your referral can earn you money and help us have quality educators in place for Fall. Candidates who submit their applications on or before July 3 and meet eligibility will get you paid during the Fall semester.

2. Then, complete the Round Rock ISD Refer a Teacher Bonus Program form.
3. After they’re hired, you’ll get up to $500 after the qualifying period.*

Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council votes unanimously to update LSSP title to school psychologist

After extensive advocacy efforts, the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC), which serves as the licensing board for school psychologists, has unanimously approved a significant change. Now, a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) holds the title of “school psychologist.” This adjustment came into effect in May 2023. School psychologists practicing in Texas have an LSSP credential.

Round Rock ISD Early Childhood Education proudly offers District employees full-day instruction for 3-year-old students at five top-rated District campuses, Berkman Arts Integration Academy, Jollyville, Laurel Mountain, Old Town, and Redbud elementary schools.

District Summer Work Schedule

Round Rock ISD will once again implement a four-day summer work schedule for employees on duty during the summer months. The four-day schedule will begin the week of June 5 and continue through July 28, with official business hours of Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The District will be closed on Fridays during those weeks.

This model is leading the way in reforming school policing and is a popular topic of discussion at state and national safety and mental health conferences.
